Pakistan kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign against USA with a dramatic finish. The match which was expected to be a one sided affair, went on to end up on a Super over and guess who won it?? It was the USA who got over the line, indeed for the USA it was a great moment of Joy as they won the match from 20-over World Cup finalist Pakistan. 

USA won the toss and chose to bowl first which turned out to be a great decision because Pakistani Openers struggled big time as they got out early in peace. Pakistan first 3 batters including Usman Khan, Muhammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman got out early at score of 23 in 4.4 overs so not an ideal start. After that Shadab Khan and captain Babar Azam built a partnership but both got out in their 40s. Pakistan made some good comebacks and managed to score 159/7 in 20 overs. 

USA started their chase with a strong base as their first wicket fell on 36 runs in 5th over. The captain Monank Patel led the team from the front as he went on to score 50 runs. In the last two overs remaining Pakistan was in a better position to win in the last 2 overs remaining as USA was required to score 21 runs in 2 overs. Naseem Shah brilliantly bowled 19th over as batters could only manage to score 6 runs which meant they were required to score 15 runs in the last over. Haris Rauf bowled the first 3 balls on tight lengths but could not manage the same perfect line and managed to score 14 runs and level the scores.

Super Over:

USA batted first in Super over, Muhammad Amir bowled like he was feeling tired. USA managed to score 18 runs in super over thanks to Muhammad Amir who bowled 2 white balls and also gave 6 leg byes. 

From the Pakistan side, Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman came to bat but only managed to score 11 runs on 6 balls. So a very disappointing start for the last 20-over world cup runner ups. 

Now it’s a very simple equation for the Pakistan Team. They simply have to win all of their remaining 3 matches including the next Big match with India if they have to qualify to the next round of Super 8, so the Pakistan team would be under immense pressure after this defeat from the USA but they have to find a way and need to bounce back strongly.
