Quetta Gladiator owner Nadeem Omar made an interesting statement by demanding PSL management should be separate from PCB. He said PSL is a very famous brand of Pakistan Cricket so there should be a separate board which could see its all operations specifically.
He added, “I believe the PSL should have its own working department, along with its separate chairman. We, being part of this famous league, should be aware of how our rights are being sold. It has been observed that PCB sleeps for 11 months and remains active for 1 month when PSL is active. Famous Leagues around the world like the IPL have proper setup which operate for the whole year”.
He further added, “I hope the new PCB chairman will introduce a long term policy that would work for 25 years. People in the cricket board should serve for a long time so that the policies could be implemented effectively. In Quetta, we can play t20 cricket in the summers and all six franchises are ready to play there. Big cities like Lahore and Karachi should be members of PCB board of Governors if it is not their turn as per rotation policy”.
Hbl Psl 9th Edition is starting from 17th February 2024. Gaddafi Stadium Lahore will host the first match whereas the final of this 9th edition Psl would be played on 18th March, 2024 in National Stadium Karachi. There are 6 teams in total who are part of this famous league namingly Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. Lahore Qalandars are the defending champions.
