Shamar Joseph Joins Peshawar Zalmi | Psl 9

West Indian bowling sensation who has earned well deserved overnight fame in the cricketing world by bowling match winning spell in Australia vs West Indies 2nd test match at Gabba has now joined Peshawar Zalmi He has been inducted to Zalmi franchise as a partial replacement of England’s Gus Atkinson. This announcement was made by Pakistan Super League from their social media handle.

Peshawar Zalmi franchise owner Javed Afridi shared a picture with Shamar Debut test series 13 wickets printed on the backside of Zalmi shirt. Peshawar Zalmi love to sign players from West Indies as before Darren Sammy captained the side and won one PSL Trophy for them in 2017. Being optimistic, Shamar Joseph could be new champion for them with the bowling form he showed in the 2nd test match against Australia.

Despite his toe injury, the 24-Year old with his fast and accurate bowling took 7 wickets to give his country victory in a test match since 1997. For his great bowling performance in 2-match test series (13 wickets) Shamar has been awarded with Man of the Series award.

Shamar Joseph Story:

A 24-Year old young boy belongs to a small village of Baracara in Guyana. Village has a total population of 400 people surrounded by water and the nearest city is 2 hours away by boat. There are no proper cricketing facilities in the town. 

He is from a poor family where he was not allowed to play cricket but as he grew up he went to city New Amsterdam for work and was working a 12-hours long shift as a security guard. Eventually his love for cricket forced him to leave the job and focus on his cricketing career and now just 1 year before a boy who was waiting to play his 1st first-class game has now been an integral part of the West Indies team bowling squad.
