T20 World Cup 2024 Record Prize Money | Ninth Edition

The ongoing T20 world cup 2024 which is being co hosted by USA & West Indies has entered into the next round of Super 8s. ICC has set a record prize money for this ninth edition mega event that will be $11.25 million USD in total as the champion team of this T20 World Cup 2024 will receive around $2.45 million which will be the highest amount in history of this tournament for the winning team.

Similarly the runners-up team will receive around $1.28 million, whereas the 2 losing semi-finalist teams will get $787,500 each. Teams which will be eliminated in Super 8 round will get $382,500 while teams at 9th to 12th position will get $247,500 each while teams at 13th to 20th ranking spots will get $225,000. In bonus, every team will get an extra $31,154 for each match winning, excluding semifinals and championship matches.

T20 World Cup 2024 Unexpected 1st Round Eliminators:

In this T20 World Cup 2024, 20 teams were included (highest number of teams to participate in this tournament) to start with. First round was full of nightmares for the few big teams as one of the finalist team of T20 World Cup 2022 Pakistan and one semifinalist team New Zealand got eliminated in the first round of this tournament as this was their worst performance in the history of this tournament. Another big team which faced elimination in the first round is Sri Lanka. After the first round, the tournament entered into the 2nd round of Super 8s, 

List of T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Teams:

Super 8 matches are scheduled at 4 different venues in the West Indies including Barbados, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Antigua and Barbuda.Here is the list of Eight Teams who have qualified for the next round of ongoing world cup’s which is Super 8 round;

  • Australia

  • England

  • South Africa 

  • India 

  • West Indies

  • Bangladesh

  • Afghanistan 

  • USA

These 8 teams are placed into 2 groups:

Group 1: India, Australia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan 

Group 2: England, South Africa, West Indies, USA


T20-World-Cup-2024-Super-8-Teams

In each group one team will play each match with other 3 teams of the same group and top 2 teams will qualify for the Semi-finals from each group which will be played at Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana on 26th and 27th June, respectively.

19th June: 

  • South Africa vs USA at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium,  Antigua

  • England vs West Indies at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Saint Lucia

20th June: 

  • India vs Afghanistan at Kensington Oval, Barbados 

  • Australia vs Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua 

21st June: 

  • South Africa vs England at Darren Sammy Cricket Ground, Saint Lucia 

  • West Indies vs USA at Kensington Oval, Barbados 

22nd June:

  • India vs Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua 

  • Australia vs Afghanistan at Arnos Vale, Saint Vincent 

23rd June:

  • England vs USA at Kensington Oval, Barbados 

  • South Africa vs West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua 

24th June:

  • India vs Australia at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Saint Lucia 

  • Bangladesh vs Afghanistan at Arnos Vale, Saint Vincent
