Can India win the 2024 T20i world cup? Former Indian Coach Ravi Shastri has expressed his thoughts on the registration launch of Indian Street Premier League.
According to Ravi Shastri, Indian Cricket team is a “strong contender” to 2024 T20i world cup but he added, once a team qualifies into the semifinal and then final, then it’s all about how You perform on those two days because that’s all which matters the most.
Shastri gave an example of the Australian team as in the recent 50-over world cup they started their campaign by losing the first 2 matches but after that they never looked back and went onto win against India in the final of world cup match which turned out to be a one sided match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium. Same on other side, India started their world cup campaign on a very high note and so throughout their all 10 matches till semifinal they won their all match, till final it was India’s dream run but in the final when it was needed the most on that day Indian team could not performed and went onto become runners up of 50-Over icc world cup 2023.
He said nothing comes easy but to win a world cup you must need to be on top of Your game. He said it took 6 world cups for the great Sachin Tendulkar to win the one.
Ravi Shastri said India have got a bunch of new talented players who could benefit India big time in the upcoming T20i world cup that will be played in Caribbean and USA from next Year 4th June, 2024. He added, it still hurts remembering the fact that India was the best team of 50-overs icc world cup 2023 but still they end up on losing side due to their below par performance in the final. Shastri said he feels India will win the world cup very soon.
