Muhammad Shami likely to miss upcoming Test Series with South Africa

It has been reported that Indian Prime fast bowler Muhammad Shami is likely to miss the upcoming 2-match Test series with Proteas as he is carrying an ankle injury and according to media reports he was having this pain before 50-over world cup 2023 despite carried the workload and performed exceptionally well during the world cup campaign.

Shami Ankle Injury

He is suffering from ankle pain and feels discomfort in his right ankle while delivering the ball. Therefore it will not be breaking news as may not be picked in the Indian test team.

Other Indian test players which are flying to South Africa for the test series include the Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Navdeep Saini and Harshit Rana. The selectors have not named Shami replacement yet but as Indian t20i and odi squads are already in South Africa so it assumed that his replacement would be picked from there. 

Test Matches Schedule:

The 1st of a 2-match test series would start  on Boxing Day, December 26, 2023 at Centurion while the 2nd test match would start on 3rd January 2024 at Newlands, Cape Town.

Rohit Sharma feels sorry for fans:

Meanwhile Indian 50-overs odi world cup 2023 skipper, Rohit Sharma spoke for the first time in a video message after the world cup final. He said it was really tough to move on after the world final defeat as it feels we were so close to lift the world cup trophy but still could not make it. He added, after the final match loss, many people came to me and discussed our brilliant world cup campaign except for that final match. I feel sorry for all the fans as they were supporting us by heart to lift the world cup trophy. 

He added during this 1 and half month campaign where ever we went people supported us by coming to grounds in large numbers and also watching all the matches from home but time and again when I think of final match I feel sorry for the fans as winning the world cup trophy could had be a great gift for our all these fans.
